"DIVISION" is an industrial AR HMD that reduces fatigue by distributing weight to reduce user discomfort and providing a sense of vision openness through structure.
We propose "openness" of eyes and weight as a specific way to relieve the "fatigue" that hinders workers' work efficiency in industrial sites. We would like to propose an environment that is more convenient for communication with the external environment by securing visibility through design considering weight variance and structure that is easy to secure visibility.

Problem

Smart glasses have the advantage of increasing the user's work efficiency in that the user's hands are free and the user can process a lot of information.
However, the discomfort that occurs when workers perform their duties leads to individual workers' fatigue, which is responsible for reducing the efficiency of the workers by 47%.
In the case of the "industrial site management position", in addition to the industrial site, the company carries out many tasks in the office, communicates and calls with employees in the space, and uses AR devices in various environments during the work.
Process

We propose "openness" of fish eyes and weight as a concrete way to relieve the "fatigue" that hinders the efficiency of users' work in the industrial field.

We would like to propose an environment that is more convenient for communication with the external reality environment by opening the eyes through a design that is easy to distribute weight and secure visibility.

Sketch

Moving away from the existing HMD products, we proceeded with various types of sketches that could give the keyword "openness".
Prototype

We have prototyped seven sketch drafts from Type A to Type F. We've verified different shapes and mechanisms.
Prototyping was carried out considering not only the case of wearing a regular head but also the case of wearing an actual safety helmet.
Design Proposal

Through numerous design processes, the details were modified little by little, and the current design was completed.

If the product is not in use, the lens can be pulled forward and raised to give the user a viewing angle.

The design is organic according to the line of the helmet and head. Therefore, when using the product, it is possible to distribute the weight perfectly and there is no problem with the weight.

Detail

The vent hole is located at the top to dissipate the heat generated when using the product, and there is a speaker on the side that can clearly receive sound from external noise during work. Also, the charging part will be inserted on the back.

The PCB substrate of the product is located on the light magnification module, and the battery is located behind it.
Therefore, weight dispersion can be achieved by matching the front and back weight of the product, and the sides can be thinly digested.
